This page has everything you need to know to make your session a success!


Preparing to speak at ForestEDWest

  • Please share your presentation by March 15, 2022
    • Name your presentation as follows [Presenter Name – Session Date] 
    • To avoid PC/MAC compatibility issues the preferred format is a PDF unless you embedded have videos then use .PPT
  • The audience will be a mix of classroom teachers, non-formal forest educators, industry professionals, post-secondary instructors and students and representatives from NGO’s
  • When you are not presenting, you are encouraged to participate in other breakout sessions.

  • If you have give-away items you can distribute them during your session or drop them off at the registration table to be included in the door prizes. These items are not required.
  • Engage in the conversation and promote your session using the #forestEDwest and tag @insideeducation

The finer details – travel, meals, accommodations

  • The program is being held at the Coast Canmore Hotel and Conference Centre March 17-20, 2020 (map)
  • If you are joining us for meals and more of the ForestEDWest Program, please register here and contact us (403-263-7720) to receive the ForestEDWest rate and book your accommodations 
  • When you arrive at the Coast Canmore Hotel please check in at the ForestEDWest registration table to pick up your name tag and let us know that you have arrived. Please check in at least 30 min before your session.
  • All attendees are required to show proof of vaccination at registration

Breakout Sessions

10:45am – 12:15pm | Friday, March 18
10:30am – 12:00pm | Saturday, March 19

  • Each breakout will have a room host who will do introductions, keep the session running on time and help out with technology.  Please help them out by watching the time during your presentation!
  • Each presenter will have 20 minutes for their presentation (40 min for a double block), you can include time for a Q & A and/or encourage participants to connect following the session as we have left time for networking during the program. 
  • Sessions will be taking place in meeting rooms that will be equipped with projectors and screens and roundtables that seat 6
  • Delegates will attend one of the three concurrent sessions, so you can expect approximately 35 participants.

Hands-On Workshops

2:45-3:45 | Saturday, March 19

  • Delegates will attend one of the three concurrent sessions, so you can expect approximately 35 participants.
  • These sessions can happen inside or outside with a flexible format that can accommodate the session style.
  • Indoor spaces will be equipped with projectors and screens and round tables that seat 6.

Round Table Discussions

9:00-10:00 | Sunday, March 20

  • Participants will spend the time moving between tables that each feature a different conversation topic, moderated by a Round Table Host who will help keep the conversation flowing and answer questions.
  • No prep or presentation is required for the Round Table Hosts, just be ready to facilitate conversations around a pre-selected topic for 10-15 minutes.

Resource Booths

Setup will be on Thursday, March 17 between 4:00 and 7:00

  • Booths should be set up to be unstaffed for the majority of the weekend until the Sunday morning Resource Sharing Session from 10:30-11:30am.
  • The resource sharing session will be an opportunity for participants to share resources amongst themselves, to visit the Resource Booths, ask questions and collect resources. Your booth should be staffed during this time.
  • Booth space is available if you haven’t secured one yet – register for your booth using the eventbrite link
  • If you have give-away items you can distribute them at your booth during the resource sharing session and if you have door prize items please drop them off a the registration table.
